It is a neoclassical monument that was built in the early 19th century to celebrate the end of the Napoleonic Wars and the restoration of peace in Europe. The Arch of Peace is located at the end of the beautiful Parco Sempione, a large park that surrounds the Sforza Castle and is one of the largest green spaces in Milan.
