Rotterdam is a very international city. Rotterdammers are also known for their work ethic. They don’t mind working up a little grease behind those elbows, rather they are proud of it. As a result, they say ‘don’t yak, work’! The song of the city’s soccer club Feyenoord states: ‘Geen woorden maar daden’, meaning: ‘No words but deeds’.

Everybody speaks English, and you will find that people are happy to help you at every corner. All in all, being in such a small country, having an excellent public transportation system and everybody speaking English, it’ll be hard to get lost in the Netherlands!
